Have you ever read a book that completely changed your life?
Have you ever met someone who completely changed your life?
My life has completely changed as a result of very specific books and people that came into my life at the perfect time.
It didn’t matter whether it was a book, video, or a person – every time I have grown my income, and I can show a direct correlation from that moment to my personal growth. My personal growth has been a result of me thinking differently.
( I can always show a directly correlation from the moment something or someone challenges me to think differently, to my personal growth, to how I have grown my income.)
Just learning their ideology or knowledge would make me believe in a better way.
A better way to earn a living, a better way to build a business, or a better way to get a customer.
When I did have the rare opportunity to spend time with them one on one I would always trying to understand every decision they made. I was always fascinated on getting to the core of their magical powers. I wanted to see how the solved problems, and engineered strategy solutions.
Depending on the problem I was trying to solve, the person who helped me solve the problem permanently by teaching me the principles automatically started taking the role of teacher or mentor in my life. When this was happening I never agreed to it up front. The more value they delivered to me the more of my “attention” they earned.
I have a very short attention span. So getting my attention is like trying to capture a hummingbird.
I measure my attention by the time I spend with the person, not always in person sometimes it just me and them in a digital presence. If I’m watching them on YouTube, listening to their Podcast, or reading something online about them or something they recommended.
What I’ve noticed is the more I’ve consumed, the more money I’ve paid them.
I now call these individuals “The Digital Presidents”
They are the GO-TO-EXPERT, their brand attracts clients to them as the trusted advisor for advising them on how to go from where they are to where they want to be.
If you would of told me I would ever pay one person 250k for consulting? I would have said “what the heck are they going to do for me for 250k.”
That is not the process. It’s never the process.
My experience has always been consumption.
Many of you may or may not of heard of the name Jay Abraham. Jay Abraham is the Digital President for Strategy, Optimization, and building really building a business. He has seen so many different business models he can easily see hidden opportunities, under utilized assets, and process improvement opportunities to help grow a business.
Jay Abraham has a Core Philosophy as it relates to growing a business.
I learned about his “Core Philosophy by reading his books.
I read his book “Getting Everything You Want, out of Everything you Got”.
This book blew my mind. At the time I had only spent $20 with Jay Abraham. I would not have even know he existed if my buddy at the time had not just paid him thousands of dollars to attend one of his events. My partner Jay learned about him from a CD that was a free bonus in a Tony Robbins CD set that our friend John Kitends listen to.
One bonus CD turned into an introduction to thousands of small business.
When I read Jay’s book I could not put it down. I would never think the same way. I’ve probably spent more time with Jay Abraham than any other mentor. I know we’ve paid him more money than any other mentor.
Overtime I started becoming very aware of who stuff I was consuming. Who I was spending money with, and retracing all my interactions with the people who had earned a celebrity status in my mind.
Abraham taught that every success and every failure could be boiled down to a universal principle at play.
That mental model put me on to a discovery that anyone could become “The Digital President”.
Abraham demonstrated a strategy and mindset that was required in order to ascend to the TOP of any niche as the GO-TO Trusted Advisor. Jay is one of the greatest marketers, maybe one of the world’s best copywriters. After spending countless hours with him one day I understood what was at the core of his philosophy.
It was “The Strategy of Preeminence” – it was at the foundation of all he stood for. Actually, it’s both a strategic philosophy and a philosophical strategy for operating a preeminent business.
It focus on the receiver and their best interest. It is a mental model of “I’m not trying to sell you- I want to serve you.”This comes from creating a strategic mindset. You have to subordinate your needs and totally focusing on the “other side.”
This concept is dangerous when you’re building a business. Executed wrongly you could spend years with the tail wagging the dog. Running down every opportunity to serve a community or a client. Not everybody expertise transcends all area’s of business.
Like a president you have to choose.
One of the most powerful concepts in business, marketing, influence, and building a community. Is clearly understanding what you stand for and what you stand against.
Becoming the Digital President, requires a great deal of empathy. You have to fully understand and with compassion and respect your client’s feelings, how they see the situation. You have to understand their hopes, dreams, ultimately the desired outcomes and goals they are trying to achieve.
The TIP of the spear is isolating everything down to “Only One” person’s point of view. You want to be very specific, you want to know your ideal client profile. This is spoken about, however hardly anyone ever does this correctly. This is the foundation of becoming the Digital President. It hard to give really good advice to every scenario under the sun.
You can share information in the market place. There is a world of difference between giving information and giving great advice. Advice should be very specific so it can be turned into action. When you approach building your business from using the “Only One” person’s point of view you can design a strategy that will bring people to action. Information is worthless without action.
You can’t be afraid to take a stand.
The people you trust are the people that help you come to a conclusion. People want you to be the expert.
Digital marketing has made this philosophy more important now than ever. What is the journey your ideal client is on. Where are they trying to go? You MUST know with absolute certainty their biggest frustrations, challenges, and opportunities so you can bring them clarity. You have to connect the dots for them. You can not allow them to make mistakes because your success depends on their success.
If you can’t get your ideal client to their goal, then they are not your ideal client. When you demonstrate with certainty that you are looking out for your clients best interest you will gain their trust. The absolute way to lose trust is to try to promise to be the solution to everything for everybody.
Without TRUST, people will not take action.
You have to decide that you are going to become the leader for your community and your core philosophy. Your clients are looking for someone they believe can lead them to the greatest results, outcomes, joy, less pain, more profitability, and more productivity.
You have to make your business individual focused, not subject focused.
